Holly Jolly Gift Card Holder

Make giving a gift card memorable with a handmade (and reusable) felt envelope. I used red and white felt and thread with two iconic Christmas images—a tree and a present (which is a button). The tree is sewn onto the front of the envelope, but you can sew any other shape you like or none at all. You can also use paint and stencils/stamps to create your own design. Try personalizing it by adding the recipient’s name or by using his/her favorite colors. Changing the colors will also make it appropriate for any occasion (birthday, baby shower, etc.). This envelope can be used again and again or even hung on the Christmas tree as a keepsake.

How many times have you gone to the store looking for the perfect gift bag, but either they don’t have what you’re looking for or the bags are overpriced? Here’s a solution to the dilemma… Buy a few inexpensive bags and vamp them up with your personal touch! When adding embellishments to bags, they don’t need to be elaborate; something cute and simple is all you need.

Who loves red? As we continue exploring different ideas for wrapping presents, I’ll show you a few ideas for working with red and white materials. If I asked you to name something that is red and white and Christmassy, what would it be? For me, it’s candy canes. In addition to the candy canes, there are a couple other ideas for wrapping with red. Happy wrapping!

Wrap It Up!

Let’s face it, every year when we wrap gifts, we want it to be quick and easy since there are so many to wrap. At the same time we want each present to feel special, or extra-special depending on recipient ;) Sure, you can buy ready-made bows and curled ribbon, but I’ll show you how to make some simple embellishments. You can even make these in advance so your stash is full when it comes time to wrap gifts.

Gift Baskets: Putting the Pieces Together

So, you’ve got all the stuff for your gift basket, but need some help putting it all together? No problem! I have listed some basic gift wrapping supplies, although you may decide if you would like to wrap with something other than cellophane (tulle, for example). Leave a comment if you have any questions about wrapping or for advice!
